SUMMARY
A communication by Firma Quattro. Trabajo Social based on social research into an in-house project run over seven years at an intercontinental company: «Socioeconomic aid for situations that have arisen», backed by a dedicated Social Economic Fund and designed entirely by the firm (characteristics, criteria, procedures and tools). Drawing on the systematic analysis of the Social Reports issued —complemented by a questionnaire and semi-structured interviews— the research pursues two aims: to determine the profile of the applicants and to establish the relevance of the Social Report for decision-making. The findings show that the Social Report, produced «blind» and in line with the profession's ethical and data-protection frameworks, is essential when people outside social work must decide on aid: the agreement between the technical proposals and the committee's decisions exceeds 90%, even though the report is not binding but conclusive. The communication thus vindicates the Social Report as an objective, safeguarding instrument within Corporate Social Action.
